久以前羊肉串 translates to “A Long Time Ago Lamb Skewer“. I believe it takes us back to a primitive time, allowing us to enjoy the delicious and flavourful meat skewers that nature provides — simple is best. Located close by iAPM Mall, once you step out the elevator you can hear the enthusiasm from the team welcoming you to 很久以前羊肉串. We went there around 10:30pm after our unsatisfying dinner at Yong Fu, we were all still a little hungry and craving for 羊肉串 (Lamb Skewer), it is great that we came in late hours as there is no queue and the restaurant only have a few tables occupied so we get to our little booth seat swiftly..

The moment they turn on the grills, they offered ice stickers to stick on your forehead or body to cool down, a thoughtful gesture ensuring we stayed comfortably cool.

This charming act, a stark contrast to the earlier mediocre service at Yong Fu, instantly set a positive tone for our experience.

The highlight of the evening undoubtedly was the automated skewer turner — a whimsical addition that left us pleasantly surprised. left me questioning why I hadn’t encountered such innovation before. In Hong Kong, we’re accustomed to the traditional way of grilling skewers, making this technological twist all the more fascinating. While the lamb skewers (羊肉串) offered a tasty treat, a bit more meaty and juiciness would have been the cherry on top. Our selection spanned a variety of skewers, among which the chicken kidney stood out as a must-try. The beef and pork belly skewers proved to be delightful. The small corn, with its chewy and doughy texture, was a nice twist from the typical offerings in Hong Kong — a pleasant surprise that added a unique touch to our experience. The staff, friendly and cheerful, significantly contributed to the overall positive ambiance.

As we were heading out, we were given milk candies. This sweet treat was the perfect conclusion to our late dinner journey, exuding a heavenly, milky aroma. If you’re into that intense milky flavour, it’s like a little taste of heaven.
